Somatic simply means "in the body". This method of healing is a body-oriented therapeutic approach called Somatic Experiencing® that helps to heal trauma and other stress disorders. This technique works from 'the bottom up' to create more safety and capacity in your nervous system, and resolve stress response patterns (fight, flight, freeze). It will reduce stress and overwhelm, relieve physical, mental, and emotional blocks, free up thwarted life force energy, and resolve survival states or trauma.

How can somatic healing help you?
Somatic simply means "in the body". This method of healing is a body-oriented therapeutic approach called Somatic Experiencing® that helps to heal trauma and other stress disorders. This technique works from 'the bottom up' to create more safety and capacity in your nervous system, and resolve stress response patterns (fight, flight, freeze). A somatic approach is the foundation for true, lasting change because (1) trauma is stored in the body and nervous system, and (2) survival patterns are subcortical, meaning they exist below the level of our mind and can't be accessed by our thinking brain.
A somatic approach will help your body to heal itself. It will reduce stress and overwhelm, relieve physical, mental, and emotional blocks, free up thwarted life force energy, and resolve survival states or trauma.
This is for people who are working through trauma, loss, chronic illness, mental/emotional overwhelm, blocks and barriers, stress, anxiety, depression, feeling stuck, frozen, disconnected, or repeating old patterns.

The details
What you can expect
Sessions last about 60 minutes and are done online via video call. These sessions are comparable to a coaching or therapy session, but with a strong emphasis on developing body awareness/felt sense, increasing nervous system capacity, creating internal safety, or releasing bound up survival/trauma energy. Sessions are highly individual and will vary person to person.
During our sessions we will explore tools drawn from Somatic Experiencing™ and Somatic Emotional Embodiment techniques. These sessions move at the pace of your nervous system and are integrated in a way that is trauma centred, slow and safe.

Somatic healing sessions work similar to coaching/therapy sessions where we meet together for 60 minutes and address your areas of concern, struggle or challenge from a somatic/body based therapeutic lens. You may receive supportive tools to practice and integrate as a takeaway.
